Ventilation Hygiene

Ventilation hygiene

EMS Ductclean UK is the country's leading ventilation hygiene specialist. Since our inception we have led the way in developing and promoting new technologies in ventilation surveys, decontamination, sanitation, commissioning and new installation. We offer ventilation hygiene to all aspects of Ductwork systems, i.e. kitchen extract, supply, exhaust, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) for process plant operations and all our work is carried out to BS EN ISO 9001:2000, 14001:2004 and 18001:1999 to which we have achieved full accreditation and specifically following the regulations and guidance of TR/19: Internal Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems, published by the HVCA.

We can also provide a detailed CCTV or Digital Photographic Survey, including sample testing by a UKAS accredited laboratory and a written report highlighting the risk against cost against health and safety. Also, as part of our commitment to improving the standards within the ductcleaning industry, we have designed and developed our Ventilation Management Programme (V.M.P.). This has been designed to ensure that, when asked to survey the cleanliness and condition of your ventilation systems, you receive either an interactive CD Rom or a hard copy of the V.M.P. Report with all the information you need at your fingertips.

Our services include:

  • Kitchen exhaust decontamination
  • Decontamination of ventilation systems
  • Sanitation of ventilation systems
  • Re-balancing and commissioning of ventilation systems
  • Maintain, resetting or replacement fire dampers
  • Provision of detailed drawings
  • Provision and installation of new systems
  • Environmental decontamination of clean rooms/computer suits
  • Reduction in fire risk through management of all ventilation systems
  • Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Maintenance

Round the clock service

EMS Ductclean operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our rates are the same for normal and out of hours working and are very competitive in the current market place. Any large portfolio contract is issued an account manager. This has in the past demonstrated huge benefits to our clients and subsequently to us.

We believe firmly in the partnership approach to working with our clients. Part of this process is gaining an understanding of our client's needs, preferred outcomes of the project and any special issues that may require speedy or extraordinary solutions. Our detailed method statement and programme of works would then relate to these agreed solutions.

In this country the rate of small fires, costing less than £100,000 each, which are caused through contaminated kitchen extract systems continues to rise. Many insurance policies contain specific conditions, relating to regimes of cleaning. If a fire occurs in kitchen extract ventilation and can be shown to be associated with inadequate cleaning of ductwork then it could jeopardise the right to indemnity for loss or damage under the relevant policy. Failure to satisfy inspections by statutory enforcement authorities (such as fire and environmental health authorities) can lead to closure of your business and even prosecution. The fire brigade now include an inspection of kitchen extract systems when surveying restaurants or fast food outlets for fire integrity.
